INTRODUCTION
KAED Universal Design Unit (KUDU) IIUM and Department of Standards Malaysia (STANDARDS
MALAYSIA) is proud to announce the organizing of The Half-Day Product Design Workshop in conjunction with the ongoing Universal Design Product Competition 2012 (UDPC 2012).
The Universal Design Product Competition 2012 (UDPC 2012) are exclusively for University/College students that aims to expose those students to apply their knowledge on products designs in Malaysia that are applicable for all type of age and disabilities including children.
This competition seeks for genuine ideas and fresh creativity that involves the usage of Universal Design products invented, are suitable for domestic use in residential or workplace community The invention should have the expression of products with a refined concept and purpose of the design, the technology and invention method used, types of materials and most importantly the Malaysian Standards (MS) used as guidelines in the product design.
THEME
UNIVERSAL DESIGN PRODUCT – DESIGN FOR RESIDENTIAL / WORKPLACE WITH THE APPLICATION OF MALAYSIA STANDARDS (MS).
CONCEPT
The concept of the competition is: Safety, Functional and Reliable Experiences’.

· Category A : Product Design for Disable Person
· Category B : Product Design for Children
PARTICIPATION CATEGORY
· University/College Students (local university or college)
