Invitation to apply for FSTEP scholarship programme - Batch 9


Greetings from FSTEP, Kuala Lumpur!

The Malaysian financial landscape has evolved to one that is sound, competitive and well
diversified. Hence, to support its dynamic growth, the financial service industry players have
collaborated to design the exclusive Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) to
develop new talents for the financial industry.

FSTEP started in year 2007 and is the brainchild of Bank Negara Malaysia governor Tan Sri Dato’
Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz and is currently managed under Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia (IBBM).

FSTEP provides a one year intensive training programme in banking and insurance with a
monthly allowance of RM 2,200. The first six months will expose the participants to
comprehensive classroom training, in addition to the second six months of structured
internship with sponsoring financial institutions.

 The classroom training includes:
 Intensive English course by British Council
 Outward Bound School
 Visits to Bursa Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia and attending international conferences
 Technical training on conventional, Islamic and investment banking as well as insurance/takaful
 Two week practical attachment with sponsoring financial institutions
 Soft skills enhancement
 Personal development programmes
 Corporate Social Responsibility projects
 Prominent leaders’ sessions
 Bourse game
 Management game
 Power programme by Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK)

FSTEP is targeted at graduates with CGPA of 3.00 and above from both local and foreign
institutions of higher learning (any field of study) with less than 3 years of working experience,
age below 30.

Intake for Batch 9 is now open (closing date on October 15, 2012) and we are seeking your
assistance in recruiting participants for our forthcoming scholarship programme.
